The Mansfield Fire Department held a promotion ceremony on Monday. The ceremony was held at the Mansfield Fire Station 4. Lieutenant Troy Reed was promoted to Captain, while Firefighters Matthew Shafley and Shawn Yerian were promoted to Lieutenant. Troy Reed was unable to attend the ceremony due to a personal matter but will be recognized in a separate ceremony to be scheduled later. All firefighters have been with the department for an extensive amount of time, Fire Chief Steven J. Strickling said. "These guys have had a lot of time in the fire service," Chief Strickling said. "Both are gonna be very valuable assets to us."
