Crews quickly contained a fire inside the Pacific Northwest Yamaha building in North Plains Tuesday evening. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to the fire around 6:30 p.m. When crews arrived to the building, located in the 10000 block of Northwest Main Street, they saw smoke coming from the eves of the building and some windows broken by the heat. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire. TVF&R said firefighters fought the fire from outside until more crews arrived. They spent more than an hour clearing smoke from the building and salvaging contents. A fire investigator said the accidental fire started near a golf cart in a storage bay. The Pacific Northwest Yamaha building did not have a commercial sprinkler system.
