Roseburg: Roof fire causes $30,000 in damages to downtown apartments

A Tuesday night roof fire scarred the five-story Grand Apartments building in downtown Roseburg, causing approximately $30,000 in damages, according to the Roseburg Fire Department. At approximately 9 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a commercial fire in the 700 block of Northeast Cass Avenue, Roseburg, after witnesses reported seeing flames coming from the roof of the building. The building includes four upper floors of residential apartments and ground floor spaces for commercial businesses. A total of 10 firefighters arrived on scene and found the northeast corner of the roof in flames and residents still occupying the building.
