Firefighters were able to fully contain a wildfire Tuesday night after it started southwest of Eugene earlier in the day.
Crews bulldozed around the full site to keep the flames from spreading.
The fire burned 13 acres total. Firefighters say winds helped the fire spread.
"I was up the canyon working on some hay for my customers and I came out and just saw a fire truck go by. I didn't know there was a fire until I looked back and I said, 'Woah, that's close!'" said Richard Doss who saw the fire.
Two helicopters joined the fight against the wildfire. However, they left the scene before 8 p.m. to make it out of the air by curfew.
Reports of smoke near Lorane and Territorial highways started coming in shortly after 3 p.m.
Firefighters from state forestry, South Lane Fire and the Lane Fire Authority responded.
"From big operations like this to small chores around the house, everyone needs to be real aware as the temperatures are gonna be rising this week, and humidity is lower. There's just that added possibility for fires to start a little bit easier and for fires that do start to get a little bit bigger," said Josh Deegan from the Oregon Department of Forestry.
