Firefighters held a blaze in the vegetation behind the BMX track near Autzen Stadium at 1/4 to 1/2 acre Wednesday. The fire put up a lot of smoke. Property damage appears to be limited to grass, shrubs and trees. No one was injured. "The Fire Marshal and Eugene Police Arson have subsequently responded to the location to investigate the cause," Eugene Springfield Fire said in a press release. The battalion chief described the fire as "human-influenced." Access to the area was limited to preserve any evidence at the scene.
