Roughly 70% of schools in the state's largest school district in the state lack adequate fire alarm systems.
Jackson County Fire District Three, however, make this a priority with their schools.
All 40 schools in Central Point, Eagle Point, and the surrounding communities have up to date systems.
"Each school has hundreds if not thousands of safety devices in them. And the reason it's so important is because we need to make sure every person, regardless of their location in the building knows that an emergency is taking place and knows about the need to evacuate," Deputy Fire Marshal Mark Northrop said.
