About 10,000 acres of land are burning in the Willamette National Forest and every day dozens of new fires spark. But there's a team acting as the first line of defense to keep those fires in check. The Eugene Interagency Communication Center has one main goal -- to stop wildfires as soon as possible. And for the most part, they do. 99 percent of the fires that start in the Willamette National Forest are put out in a day or two, but the center's already-complicated job is about to get even harder with fire season in full swing.
