One person suffers minor injury in Elgin area fire

One person suffered a minor injury in a house fire on Palmer Junction Road Monday afternoon. The fire, about a mile north of Elgin was reported at about 4:30 p.m. and was in the crawl space under the home's roof. The blaze caused a limited amount of damage to the home, said Mike Barry, chief of the Imbler Rural Fire Department. The Imbler Rural Fire Department assisted the Elgin Fire Department with the blaze. Barry said that the Elgin Fire Department successfully extinguished a similar fire at the house about five years ago. "Kudos to the Elgin Fire Department. It has made two great stops for the same house,'' Barry said. The individual injured in the fire did not need medical treatment. The cause of he fire is under investigation.
