A security guard is being treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at the Yards at Union Square apartments Friday morning. Portland Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a fire at the apartment complex in the 800 block of NW Naito Parkway at 5:13 a.m. Firefighters found burning debris in a hallway, officials said. Crews extinguished the fire around 5:30 a.m. Portland Fire and Rescue said a fire investigator will look into the cause. They said the security guard will be transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
