Spontaneous combustion is believed to be the cause of a structure fire that destroyed a home in the Klamath Falls suburbs early Monday. According to a news release from Klamath County Fire District 1, rags soaked in linseed oil were the most likely origin of the fire, on the 3000 block of Madison St. The release said a state trooper called dispatch at 1:21 a.m. to report a house and vehicle were on fire with threats to nearby structures. The fire was under control by 1:44 a.m. after crews responded from District 1, Kingsley Field, Klamath County Fire District 4 and Keno Fire Department.
