Five people - including 2 children - are without a place to stay after a fire left their home uninhabitable Wednesday morning.
Reports came in just after 7 a.m. of a fire in a home on West 37th Avenue.
Firefighters reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the attic when they arrived.
Everyone had evacuated the house safely.
"We had smoke issuing out of the bathroom vent and the left side attic window," Battalion Chief Matthew Steinberg said. "They got out, they self-extricated, they knew to leave the house, they did a good job. They got their kids out and they met us here when we arrived."
