A driver in a vehicle crashed into a building and a bank of gas mains early Friday morning, causing a gas leak in Northeast Portland. Portland Fire and Rescue responded to the crash in the 1400 block of Northeast Broadway at 5:38 a.m. They say the driver hit a commercial building and several gas meters before fleeing the scene. Firefighters evacuated a block around the area. Investigators believe the driver was in a white Nissan sedan. Northwest Natural is responding to the gas leak. No one was injured.
