Crews battled a wind-fueled house fire in Hillsboro early Friday morning.
Cornelius Fire responded to the fire, located in the 1300 block of Southwest 345th Avenue, around 3:45 a.m.
Crews told FOX 12 a neighbor called 9-1-1 after hearing popping sounds and seeing flames at the back of the home.
Firefighters checked the interior of the home and did not locate anyone inside.
FOX 12 spoke to the son of the homeowners who said his parents are on vacation.
“I got the phone call from my folks around four, they’re down at the coast camping, they’re on their way back now. I don’t know what happened. The heat don’t help, something wiring, something I don’t know," said Grant Singleton.
