Jackson County Fire District 3’s trained paramedic firefighter Alex Cummings organized to have an Asante medical staff neonatal resuscitation training all throughout Friday.
That's because only one is every four firefighters is trained on newborn resuscitation.
Today two, four hour sessions helped train all 50 firefighters at district three on how to respond to emergency childbirth situations.
"I know that my team mates don't always get that same training and when I come back and try to share it with them, it doesn't always have that same impact like it did to me. So it's awesome to get in the same room with everybody, practice through a scenario, have the experts in the room to answer questions," said Cummings.
During the training, Asante used monitoring technology to simulate a newborn baby's vitals.
