The firefighter who suffered major injuries after a hit-and-run is expected to be in the hospital for another two months before he is stable enough to go home. Oregon State Police say that 71-year-old John Houdeshell is in intensive care after he was hit by a car while working on the Terwilliger Fire. Houdeshell was on his way to his hotel, crossing Hwy 126 around 9 p.m. on September 3 when he was hit by a westbound vehicle. There were no witnesses, though a side-view mirror left on scene led State Police to determine that it was a 2004-2010 Toyota Sienna Minivan, possible grayish in color. Now, OSP is asking the public for help finding the person responsible. "Somebody knows what happened, somebody knows somebody who's got a damaged Toyota Sienna minivan with a missing mirror all the sudden," said Sgt. Elijah Chambers, with the Oregon State Police. "Or missing headlight and they know something isn't right, we're urging those people to come forward to help us figure out who the driver was."
