The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley aided a family of two adults and six children after a fire Monday morning at 128 S. Chestnut St. in Bath, according to a news release. The family received lodging, clothing and food, the Red Cross said. Two family members got shoes and coats, the Red Cross said. All family members received comfort kits and the children were given stuffed animals, the Red Cross said. The borough fire department has not returned calls requesting more details about the fire that was reported just after 9 Monday morning. WFMZ is reporting a man was cleaning motorcycle parts in the basement and told authorities the fire began when he turned on an exhaust fan. But a fire marshal will begin to investigate this morning because of the "suspicious nature of the fire," WFMZ said.
