(PHOTO) A dump truck caught fire Thursday afternoon, bringing dozens of firefighters to a farm in Earl Township. Emergency crews were called around 12:45 p.m. to 194 Meadow Creek Road, near South Custer Avenue and Maple Drive, said Garden Spot Fire Rescue Chief Larry Martin. Once on the scene, approximately 25 firefighters encountered large flames from the truck, which was parked and loaded with stone when it caught fire, Martin said. "The diesel tank had dropped down and was spreading across the parking lot," Martin said. Crews contained the fire within about seven minutes of arrival. The truck is likely "a total loss," said Martin, who estimated the fire caused $50,000 in damage. No one was injured and no damage occurred on a nearby chickenhouse or any nearby structures, Martin said. Martin said the fire started in the engine compartment. Authorities continue to investigate its cause.
