A firefighter and photographer from Sunbury suffered unknown injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Route 642 in Valley Township Tuesday afternoon. A Geisinger Medical Center nursing supervisor reported Tony Bendele, 31, a firefighter with Americus Hose Company, Sunbury, was in fair condition. Bendele's vehicle, a Ford Mustang convertible, swerved back and forth as it traveled toward Danville in a driving rainstorm at about 2:40 p.m., according to the other driver, Elon Morley, 50, of Mifflinburg. Morley drove a pickup truck hauling an enclosed trailer owned by Buffalo Valley Repair, Lewisburg. Morley tried to swerve to avoid the car but his truck caught the car's back end before his truck and trailer ran up a small embankment into the Mausdale Christian Church Cemetery.
