No one was home when a trailer went up in flames Thursday afternoon in Adah, German Township.
Multiple fire departments rushed to 108 Tank Hill Road just before 2 p.m. Adah fire chief L.C. Otto said multiple people in the area called 911 and the township building when they saw flames shooting from the trailer. A large cloud of smoke was visible for more than a mile.
"The neighbors called (the residents) to make sure they were OK," he said.
The trailer was destroyed in the blaze, which Otto said was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. It can be difficult to find manpower during afternoon fires with many volunteer firefighters at work, he said.
No injuries were reported.
It was unclear what caused the fire. It appeared the fire started near the center of the trailer, Otto said.
A state police fire marshal has been called to investigate what sparked the blaze.
