The Mill Village Fire Department held its first ever Community Day to recruit members. The Community Day offered up free food, bounce houses, fire prevention, trailers, and much more. The equipment and gear was available for people to learn about. And, John Letzo, Fire Chief of the MVFD, says, "I think it's important to join because a lot of departments don't have tax-based fire departments, so you have volunteer departments that rely on your donation; rely on your help; rely on staffing." Around 200 people made their way to the event, which the fire department plans to hold every year.
