A mid-afternoon car accident left a car flipped onto its roof, sending two people to area hospitals.
According to Wilkes-Barre Fire Chief Jay Delaney, the jaws-of-life had to be used to extricate one of the individuals.
The accident occurred sometime after 1 p.m. on Thursday at the corner of North Washington and North streets in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
According to a police officer on scene, a silver Ford Focus was traveling west on North Street, when it came in contact with a blue Hyundai Elantra traveling south on North Washington Street. The officer said no witnesses saw the crash, and a determination of fault was pending.
