The Conemaugh Township Volunteer Fire Department is looking for more people to fill its ranks. Department President Matt Mlaker said the department is looking for volunteers to help with all sorts of jobs, from administrative to actual firefighters. Mlaker said the number of people volunteering is down drastically. “We got some good people helping, but we could always use the extra help,” he said. Fire Chief Rick Massimo said in February that the department was looking to add up to seven more firefighters and fire police.The message came after it was reported in January that there were only eight active members in the department.
