A fire department in York County is mourning today after one of their members died in the line of duty. Dover Township Fire Department says Grant Froman died Wednesday night. The flag outside of the department is lowered at half staff to honor 55 year-old Froman, who worked as a fire police officer for the department since 2001. Deputy Chief Brian Widmayer remembers Froman as a man who always wanted to help others. Wednesday night, he was called to Froman's neighborhood. "When I was on the way to the call it dawned on my why I know that road specifically and I was like oh no. I hope it’s not Grant." Grant Froman was on duty Wednesday. He died that night while fixing one of the fire units. "He was taking the running boards they were starting to rust and he wanted to take them off, sand them down, and repaint them," explained Widmayer.
