Bristol Township officials are looking to replace the Bucks County Rescue Squad’s coverage area with service from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad in large part because its former chief reportedly logged nearly $30,000 in unauthorized hourly payments while employed part time as a township officer. Bristol Township officials said concerns over the Bucks County Rescue Squad’s ex-chief and board led to their proposal to replace the squad’s coverage area with service from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad. Council members are preparing to vote on an ordinance Thursday to make that switch, starting July 1, sparking a wide social media backlash from residents and squad employees.
