A woman died Thursday after a tree fell and struck her on private property in Lawrence County, officials said. The New Castle News identified the woman as 87-year-old Audrey Gardiner of North Beaver Township. The accident happened at a private residence on Cleland Mill Road. The North Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department, Noga Ambulance and a police chaplain responded. Neither the North Beaver Township fire chief nor the New Castle coroner could be immediately reached for comment. Officials are investigating.
