Firefighters responding to an automatic alarm at a home early Wednesday were greeted by a gun-wielding homeowner who fired two shots, according to firefighters.
Three members of Bear Creek Twp. Volunteer Fire & Rescue were responding to an automatic alarm at 42 Trailwood Lake Road around 1 a.m. Wednesday when they encountered the homeowner, Fire Chief John Krumsky said.
The initial alarm was a life alert signal for emergency medical services, but that was followed up by another dispatch for a fire alarm, he said. The alarm company had tried to contact the homeowner but couldn’t reach him, he said.
Firefighters arrived and heard an audible alarm, with the side door unlocked, he said.
