City officers are investigating a passing motorist who they say failed to listen to fire police commands and drove over a fire hose. Officer Brad Slack said firefighters were attempting to connect a fire hose to battle a blaze at 917 Edison Ave. on Monday afternoon that left a family homeless and a motorist was instructed to stop but did not. The incident occurred at the fire hydrant on Edison and Packer Street, Sunbury Fire Chief Paul Brown said. "It delays the time for us to resupply the engine with water," Brown said. "I hope people would stay away from these emergency scenes." Brown said he is unsure of what damages were done to the fire hose. "We are looking into this and we can't tolerate it," Slack said. Officer in Charge Brad Hare said he was made aware of the incident and wanted to warn drivers. "We need to be respectful of the situations and let our emergency responders do their jobs," Hare said. "This incident is under investigation."
