Borough council members heaped praise on town leaders and the Clymer fire company for their response to extensive flooding in the town on Sunday and Monday, particularly an evacuation of residents in the Sherman Street neighborhood near Two Lick Creek. The only glitch in the operation, raised in roundtable chat at council’s scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, was confusion surrounding Penns Manor Area school buses transporting kids at dismissal time and their destinations. Assistant Fire Chief John Gromley, who managed much of the fire department operations on Monday, first recommended that council meet with Cherryhill Township supervisors and county officials to arrange a cleanup project to rid Two Lick Creek of vegetation that hampers its flow.
