The Interim Chief of the Central Coventry Fire District has agreed to stay on temporarily. Interim Chief Shawn Murray has committed to stay with the department through November 30th to give the district’s board of directors more time to find a replacement. The board told Eyewitness News it was difficult to find a replacement for Murray because of the short notice of his planned departure. Murray submitted his resignation in late September.
