Scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, is Lime Rock Fire District's annual meeting at Lincoln Town Hall at 7 p.m., where the annual budget will be presented for approval.
The draft spending plan, which was made available on Sept. 23, is $2.3 million, up 0.5 percent, which will require no tax increase, Chairman Ron Rivet said.
Administrative salaries remain at $169,000, and firefighters' wages have not changed from $1.3 million.
The district leaders will also seek approval to withdraw $100,000 from the district's "replace and refurbish fund" for a new fire truck and apparatus.
At an informational meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Town Hall, Rivet explained the station is looking to sell off a 1975 MAC reserve truck, likely to a collector.
Lime Rock Fire District has had maintenance issues with the old truck that has turned into a safety concern and is just "not tolerable any longer," Rivet said. The truck went into service numerous times over the winter.
The committee is still reviewing truck purchase details, but members expect their current 2000 vehicle to become the back-up vehicle, and to purchase a new engine next summer.
