Rhode Island State Police are looking into an alleged break-in at the Central Coventry Fire District after personnel records disappeared and a computer system was compromised. David M. D’Agostino, attorney for the district's board, told the NBC 10 I-Team that the push lock on a file cabinet, which stores personnel records, was found broken earlier this month and an administrator noticed specific files were missing. The alleged break-in comes amid more than a year of controversy with the fire district over contract negotiations, flag disputes and the hiring of a new administrator. “To my knowledge, the only files that appeared to be missing from the file cabinet were personnel files of the board of directors’ members,” D’Agostino said. Included in that list are Fred Gralinski, Marie Baker, Dan Lantz, Maureen Jendzejec, Cindy Fagan Perry, Helen Quinn and Richard Polselli. Along with the members' names, addresses and financial information, also included in the files are the members’ social security numbers and other personal information. “People’s payroll records -- if they have deductions, child support payments, garnishments, or on-the-job injuries, all of that information would be contained in those files,” D’Agostino said.
