Fire breaks out in Providence home overnight

Providence firefighters battled an early morning fire on Upton Street around 2 a.m. Sunday. Battalion Chief Tom Caffin tells NBC10 heavy fire could be seen coming from the top of the third story home when first crews arrived. Everyone got out safely. Firefighters were able to confine the flames to one room. It took about a half hour to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
