First responders went head to head competing in a chicken wing eating contest to raise money for an eight-year old boy battling cancer. There have been several local fundraisers set up to help Dorian Murray and his family. His wish is to become famous and he’s been doing just that. On Wednesday night, firefighters, police officers, and EMTs took part in a wing eating competition at the 99 Restaurant in Westerly. Dorian’s dad is a fellow police officer in Stonington, CT. The Westerly Police Department says the fundraiser was a huge success; more than $3,000 was raised that night with the help of donations, a raffle, and a bake sale.
