Residents of the Lonsdale Fire District, whose house values were generally reassessed upward this year, will likely see little change in their tax bills after voters unanimously approved changes to the tax rate. Those changes, however, were made by a handful of voters, after calls were made to summon enough residents for a quota at the beginning of the meeting.
Mike Babbitt of the fire board said there were only about 17 people at the Lonsdale Fire meeting on Sept. 21, and of those, only about 14 were from the Lonsdale district.
Just a handful of Lincoln residents have attended the meetings since, around this time last year, new members stepped up to the Lonsdale Fire board.
