Firefighters rescued a person from the second floor of a Woonsocket apartment building after a fire broke out on Tuesday. Crews responded to the East School Street scene at about 6 p.m. One resident said she had just gotten home with her boyfriend and three children. “Next thing we know, the fire alarm went off and we thought it was one of those fake test kind of things,” Kim Martin recalled. “I went out in the hallway and I could smell plastic and even see a little smoke, so we knew that it wasn’t fake.”
