The Central Coventry Fire District building on Route 117 is undergoing repairs after it sustained some unexpected damage on Nov. 18.
According to CCFD and Hopkins Hill Fire Chief Frank Brown, there was a compartment door malfunction on a firetruck as it was leaving the station on a call.
“This compartment door struck the center wall of the apparatus room,” said Brown. “Causing damage to the building.”
He said two of the station’s garage doors were damaged as well as a brick separator, non-bearing wall and some masonry work on the outside of the building.
“Repairs are ongoing and should be completed in a couple of weeks,” he noted.
