Newly elected Chairman Ray Forget will be heading up the Manville Fire District board of wardens, filling the spot vacated by the late Ron McKenna, who lost his battle with cancer in late May.
Forget has served as moderator for the board since 2014 and was unanimously elected chairman at last Wednesday’s meeting, Vice Chairman Bob Lake confirmed.
Forget is also a Manville Firefighter Association honorary member.
Both Forget and McKenna “have been huge supporters of our village and department,” Lake said last week after the meeting.
During a ceremony on Firefighters’ Memorial Sunday in June, Lake explained, the district’s new utility truck was dedicated in honor of McKenna and his years of service.
