A small fire at the Bay Spring Community Center, at 170 Narragansett Ave., appears to have been set. But the suspected arsonists may turn out to be pint-sized firebugs. According to Capt. Edward Owens, of the Barrington Fire Department, the suspects are some small children.
The back of the the building caught fire on Wednesday afternoon around 5:30. There was some minor extension to the interior, he said, but a neighbor actually put the fire out before the firefighters arrived. The evidence indicates the fire was set.
The state fire marshal, the Barrington police and the Barrington fire department are investigating, he said.
