What inspired you to become a firefighter?
I have three sources of inspiration — my brothers. All three of my brothers served as volunteer firefighters in Watch Hill and Dunn’s Corners. When I returned home after college in Atlanta, my brothers would run out of the house to respond to an emergency and leave me behind to wait for their return. I admired their selflessness and passion for helping others. The challenge of keeping up with my brothers was not something new. Becoming a firefighter was a new opportunity and a venture my brothers supported and provided me with guidance both on and off the fireground. At one time my twin brother, Aaron, and my younger brother, Ian, and I were all Lieutenants.
