The state Ethics Commission on Tuesday voted to probe whether East Greenwich Town Manager Gayle Corrigan violated state financial disclosure laws by failing to reveal that she worked as manager for the Central Coventry Fire District and other business enterprises.
It is the second ethics investigation facing Corrigan. The commission is also looking into Corrigan’s hiring of her business associate, Linda Dykeman, to oversee town and school finances. It launched that probe in January in response to a complaint by East Greenwich resident and former police captain William Higgins.
“We authorize a full investigation of the matter,” Ethics Commission Chairman Ross Cheit said on the more recent complaint brought by East Greenwich resident Renu Englehart. There is probable cause to believe a knowing and willful violation of the financial disclosure laws occurred, he said.
