A fire in Providence displaced multiple families. The fire broke out in a three-story apartment building on Penn Street at about 10 p.m. Monday. Fire officials said the fire was coming from the second floor when they arrived. All three floors had smoke and water damage. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families. The case of the fire was under investigation.
