After failing to provide the town with a permanent fire chief, the town council discussed terminating an outsourced recruitment company on Thursday night. “At the present time there is a contract that was signed in Oct. of 2017 between the prior council administration and Municipal Resources Inc.,” Council President Mark Schwager said. The company, he explained, is based out of New Hampshire and provides municipalities with recruitment services. According to their website, Municipal Resources Inc. (MRI) has been providing communities throughout New England with recruitment services for public administration, works, safety and several other areas since 1989. All of the founding members were former municipal and state government managers. Their past experiences and “understanding of the realities of today’s economic, regulatory and political environments provides MRI with a unique perspective and capacity to assist local government managers and decision makers improve the efficiency and effectiveness of essential community services,” according to their website. No such assistance has been provided in regards to a permanent fire chief, however.
