fire that damaged a home on Hamlet Avenue is being investigated as arson, Woonsocket police said Thursday morning. Chief Thomas Oates said the fire started shortly after 4 a.m. A dozen adults and six children were inside at the time, though no one was hurt. Oates said evidence found outside the home led them to believe the fire was deliberately set. According to Oates, this would be the third arson fire at this home in the last year.
