Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for an SUV they believe is connected to a church arson in Smithfield.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives of Boston on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the blue SUV.
Officials said the SUV drove onto the property of New Life Worship Center on Dec. 18, 2017, which is the same day flames broke out there. The SUV approached the back of the building, where officials said the fire was intentionally set in a wooden shed adjacent to the church.
“The fire quickly spread from the shed to the church causing damage in excess of $350,000,” according to authorities.
