The state Ethics Commission on Tuesday found that probable cause exists to believe that East Greenwich Town Manager Gayle Corrigan violated state ethics law by failing to disclose more than $200,000 paid in 2016 to a firm she owns in her capacity as manager of the Central Coventry Fire District.
East Greenwich resident Renu Englehart in April filed a complaint alleging that Corrigan had violated ethics laws by failing to disclose income paid to Corrigan’s firm, Management Resource Partners, by the Central Coventry Fire District.
In March 2016, Central Coventry’s board of directors hired MRP to help reduce costs and improve efficiency. The contract specified that Corrigan would act as district manager, while MRP provided financial oversight, human resources management and staffing to the district. Corrigan since managed the district, according to an investigative report by Katherine D’Arezzo, prosecutor for the commission.
