An overloaded electrical outlet is suspected in a Sunday night blaze that leveled a home on Beaufort’s Greene Street. The home was described as “a complete loss” and was totally engulfed in flames when Beaufort-Port Royal Fire Department firefighters arrived just before 7 p.m. Sunday, Fire Chief Reece Bertholf said Monday morning. There were no injuries reported in the fire. Investigators have not identified the exact cause of the fire, but believe it was started by an overloaded electrical outlet in the house, Bertholf said.
