Former fire chief, treasurer charged with embezzlement from Asbury- Rehoboth Volunteer Fire Department

Two former volunteer fire department officials, one of them a former chief, were charged Thursday by the state Law Enforcement Division with embezzlement and breach of trust involving funds belonging to the Asbury- Rehoboth Volunteer Fire Department. Joseph Kirk Reynolds, 51, was charged in arrest warrants with embezzlement of public funds, valued at $10,000 or more, and breach of trust with fraudulent intent, valued at $10,000 or more, for the alleged conversion of fire department funds for personal purchases over a 10-year period, according to copies of the arrest warrants.
