Fire crews with the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded Monday afternoon to a house fire on Congaree Avenue near downtown Aiken.
The fire started in the master bedroom of 2925 Congaree Ave. N.W. - on the left side of the house, said Capt. Marty Sawyer, with Aiken Public Safety. No one was hurt, and there were no pets inside, he said.
The fire was controlled due to a quick response from fire crews, and the house is salvageable, Sawyer said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
