A fire on Monday in Anderson County consumed multiple boats and a dock as it ripped through a Lake Hartwell marina. An employee of Portman Marina said the fire started on Dock 6 while someone was working on a boat. The boat caught fire and spread to other boats. Coroner Greg Shore, whose boat was one of the ones that caught fire, said dozens of boats were on fire in the marina. Shore said one person was injured in the fire and transported to Augusta Burn Center. Anderson County Emergency Management said they issued an all-call to any available firefighters asking for assistance at the scene. A total of 28 agencies responded to the scene with more than 200 firefighters and the Red Cross assisting. Boats that were on fire are being pulled away from the dock, emergency officials said.
