Two rescued from rising floodwater overnight in Greenville County, firefighters say

Two people were rescued along the Swamp Rabbit trail Monday night. Around 10:30 p.m., Greenville County dispatchers got several calls of rising water near West Blue Ridge Drive and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, deputies said. Firefighters found four homeless people trapped near a bridge. Two of them were able to walk out of the water. The other two people needed assistance. Crews used an inflatable raft to rescue the two victims, according to the Parker Fire District. No one was hurt. Firefighters cleared the scene around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
